The Horizon Drive District (HDD) is a nonprofit organization formed as a business improvement district (BID). The District is made up of and represents commercial property owners along Horizon Drive, Crossroads Boulevard, Compass Drive, Printers Court, Skyline Court and Horizon Court. (See Boundaries page for a map of the District.) The role of the District is to oversee capital improvements, represent District property owners and businesses operating within the District, and faciliate planning for the area. The District is managed by a seven member Board of Directors, appointed by Grand Junction City Council. The Board members volunteer to serve terms of four years, serving the best interests of the District members. The governing body oversees capital improvements, ensures the business park remains clean and safe for visitors and the people who work there, and facilitates planning for the Horizon Drive District. |
CLARK ATKINSON, PresidentVice President of Shaw Construction, Clark Atkinson has a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Real Estate Development. Nationally, Atkinson has worked on projects ranging from urban downtown high-rises to historical renovation and civil/infrastructure projects. As a board member of the Horizon Drive District, he is committed to building community pride through the appreciation of place. Atkinson says, "We have great opportunities to enhance the image, quality and sustainability of the Horizon Drive place, creating healthy growth for our businesses and our community relationships."

JAN ROHR, Vice PresidentJan Rohr has been with Rocky Mountain Health Plans since October 1991 and is responsible for developing strategy and monitoring performance related to human resources, training and development, internal auditing, purchasing, and facilities management. Ms. Rohr began her career in 1973 in the life insurance industry and has been involved in all aspects of business operations related to policy and program development, implementation, and administration. She owned and operated her own small business for 10 years. She is an active community member and has served on a variety of non-profit boards and in many volunteer roles. Ms. Rohr is currently serving on the Horizon Drive District Board and is a volunteer for the Women's Foundation of Colorado. She has served in leadership roles on the boards of Western Colorado Human Resources Association, United Way of Mesa County, Marillac Clinic, and Colorado Performance Excellence.

CHUCK KELLER, SecretaryFounder and senior partner of FCF Premium Finance, Chuck Keller graduated from the University of Colorado. Past president of both Colorado Kenworth and Grand Mesa Marine, Keller is currently president of Kelmine Corp, senior partner of Ceco Land Company, and partner of MCT Partners. As a board member of the Horizon Drive District, Keller hopes to contribute to the growth and vitality of this gateway to Grand Junction.

BILL MILIUS, TreasurerBill Milius was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to Southern California with his family at age eleven. While living there, he received his BS and MBA degrees from the University of Southern California. His early business experience with Security Pacific National Bank included work as a commercial loan officer and a portfolio manager. In 1974 Bill Milius moved to Grand Junction and established Monument Photographic Corp., with stores in Boise, Idaho; Grand Junction, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona. BRENDA BROCK, DirectorBrenda Brock, Vice President at Alpine Bank, was born and raised in Glenwood Springs, CO. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on finance and accounting. Brenda has been a commercial lender with Alpine Bank since 2004 and is the manager of the Horizon Drive location. Along with the Horizon Drive District, Brenda is a member of the Western Colorado American Red Cross Board of Directors, the Grand Valley Young Professionals Board and Junior Service League.

LYNNE SORLYE, DirectorA 35 year resident of Grand Junction, Lynne Sorlye has been general manager of the Clarion Inn Hotel since 2001. She was involved in the formation of the district and is excited to return to the organization as a newly elected board member. Lynne has served on the boards of the Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association, the Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau and, currently, the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce. She volunteers time with Hospice and the Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction. She sees the Horizon Drive District as a vibrant community of businesses serving the needs of both visitors and local residents.

DALE REECE, DirectorDale Reece has been owner of Crossroads Fitness Centers for 22 years. With a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah, he worked with commercial and residential development since moving to the Grand Valley in 1977. Board member of the Horizon Drive District, Reece says, "A first impression is a lasting impression. The street appeal of the Horizon Drive gateway is very important. When people enter Grand Junction, they should get a true sense of this amazing community. We honor each other not only as individuals, but also as part of one great community."
